On 3rd December 2021 which is the International Day of Persons with Disablities and in line with the theme of this year, " Leadership and Participation of of Persons with Disablities towards Inclusive, Accessible and Sustainable Post-Covid- 19 World. SAVWIN celebrated the day in Damaturu, Yobe State alongside persons with disablities. SAVWIN called on Yobe State Government and indeed other stakeholders to see to:

• The implementation and domestication of the Disablities Act of 2018.
• Establiment of the Yobe State Disabilities Commission.
• Provide accessible and quality education to children with disabilities at all levels of learning.
• Reserve 5% slot for persons with disabilities in political positions (elected or appointed), job placements in ministries, departments and agencies.
• Provision of special scholarship and education grants to outstanding individuals with disablities.
• Provide economic incentives and empowerment schemes for person with disablities.
• Build inclusive information databases to enable learning and re-learning for persons with disablities.
• Develop strong partnership between the disability community and Government key actors.
