This is the first time in my life that I was taught on Menstral Hygiene Management and reusable PAD making. I did not know that prolong keeping of pads in the private part can be a breeding grown for infection which goes up to the inner reproductive system, causing even severe case like infertility later in life. Another fascinating thing is the making of reusable pad, the thought of making a healthy pad which is cheaper and safer was and is still a thing of joy to me. I made some for myself and my siblings now.
Honestly I must commend the WILD training, from the feeding provisions, location of venue I must say a big " thank you" to ma'am Miyausa. This is the first time I have seen a workshop program mixed with recreational activities of boating, and relaxing at the resort centre beside the lake. The teaching on Disability Rights, Menstrual Hygiene Management for adults, SRHR were so timely.
Having come from a very strict home of Hausas, I was really uncomfortable when the presenter was teaching on sexuality and demonstrating the proper uses of condom and lubricant. But as she goes deeper I became relaxed as I saw everyone was paying attention and learning. She taught with such confidence and simplicity that she allowed us to try fixing the condoms on cucumber while she goes round to check. She taught us the danger of giving birth with little intervals so much that I understood and have now began taking the right family planning to give me enough time to rest and care for my children. The recreational activity was superb too.
Anna Caleb ( wheelchair user) Attending a program that teaches and balances everything is so rear. WILD training balanced both indoor and outdoor exercises to reduce boredom. Considering everyone's special needs was pleasing to me, the teachings, the venue, the facilitators were well organised. I ended up going back home with a free wheel chair as a gift brought from Eugene, USA. I dint have to use my hands to hold my feet in a bent form to walk again. I went home rolling proudly on my wheels! Thank you Ma'am Miyausa, thank you SAVWIN Nigeria!
